Otherwise, she soon followed. Her own climb was mostly one-handed, but soon she deposited her fistful of shells onto her vanity's surface. They clicked against the wood with quiet, skittering sounds.
"B-R-B. Gonna go grab the promised frozen peas."

He wandered to the window and peered out as he continued undressing, looping his belt over a chair and leaning his sword with care in the corner.

At least the house was quiet. It wasn't too late, though...perhaps people were out. Elsewhere. And Buffy knew she ought to patrol, but she had a pirate to tend to. And she preferred to not be alone, tonight.
She grabbed a bag of mixed frozen vegetables from the freezer and wrapped it in a dishcloth. This was a dear enough step, wasn't it? Living together -- practically. Up until the house was completed and the decision-making had to start all over again. Buffy crunched the shielded back under her fingers, breaking up bits of stuck-together peas and carrots and corn.
The Slayer was still doing so when she re-entered the room.

Or the back of his neck would. Buffy climbed onto the bed and knelt beside him, pushing long, dreaded hair aside so as to reach his skin. She didn't ice his bruise so much as she iced just above it, at first only dabbing the wrapped vegetable bag against his neck before committing it fully to its task.
"This's always been my favourite thing after a long night on the job," she explained. "Though, it kinda harkens back to my pre-Slayage days. Cheerleading practice, mostly."

"Mmmmm. Cheerleading. Want to see you cheerlead one day.
Don't stop."

Each pass of the ice was lasting longer, now. But she still only dabbed around the bruise.
"Cheerleading's too competitive. People get mean. I'm happy sticking to my yoga pants and superheroing, thanks."

Unfortunately, he would remember this nugget of information for the volleyball tournament later.
"I like your yoga pants. Your yoga pants make me think impure thoughts about you."

With a playful warning, she gently tapped just between his wings. Right above where they met with skin and muscle. "Well. Purity and flexibility."

The makeshift ice-pack dipped lower, skipping the bruise altogether. Instead, she dabbed at his shoulders and the line of his spine. "Besides, the cheers were all kinda lame."

Jack was not making any signs of relinquishing this attention.
