[ buffy and spike have been out a-missioning -- only it hasn't gone quite as...merrily as they might have hoped. you see, they’re back a little early. spike decided to make an escape attempt and, in doing so, he’s brought malnosso justice down on both their heads. it’s all terribly unfair.

their punishment? one doozy of a bodyswap. spike is buffy and buffy is spike. and neither of them are too pleased about it.

sartre once claimed that 'hell is other people'; however, a situation like this makes a convincing argument that hell is, in fact, being other people. after they argue their way out of a proverbial wet paper bag and manage to find better clothing than the new feather garb they're initially given, they'll be available (throughout the next few days) to be mocked or sympathized with or awkwardly avoided all around town, depending on the individual.

[With Buffy gone, Faith had been making a point of doing thorough patrols. Not that there was anyone to really witness it, but it was something she wouldn't have done. Before. So she did it now. Unfortunately, patrolling when there was nothing to fight actually turned out to be a lot more exhausting than the regular kinds of patrolling, as well as being painfully and utterly boring. Longer nights meant longer hours sleeping in..and it's moved on past noon before the other slayer drags herself out of her apartment in search of an easy lunch.

In the daylight, she's not being particularly aware of her surroundings, so she very nearly strides right past the darkly-clothed blonde before freezing and doing a double-take]

[It's Spike that keeps them from colliding. He gives the other Slayer a once over and suddenly.

Well suddenly he remembers the first time he met her. Well wasn't this downright ironic. He did his best to disguise his British accent. The perky smile would need some work, but he managed to look. Amicable.]

Faith. Nice night for a stroll, isn't it?

[her eyebrows shot up. Not looking for an accent, she didn't hear one, but even she could tell something was...off.]

What, a girl can't go for the dark hero look? I've been doing it longer than you have. Spike too, for that matter.

[Too defensive, perhaps. But he felt it was convincing. Even if he did have to admit the jacket wasn't working for Buffy's body.]

What's wrong, Faith? [Spike advanced a few more steps, activating his own typical smolder. Again, awkward on Buffy's face.]

[but the words were harsh, rather than her usual, confident mocking. They almost seemed to carry a hint of...panic]

[He tilts his head. Smirk. The next bit is downright predatory.]

[to say she was weirded out was an understatement. She truly did not know how to deal with this.

For a long moment, she simply stared at Buffy, uncomprehending.

And then, deciding that this was all one sick joke, she whirled on her heel with a scowl.] You know what? Screw this.
