herotypical: [ slayer ; scythe ; busy ] (✝ we are the virus that we talk about)

video + action ✪ we're half awake in a fake empire

[ mid-morning, a remarkably calm and very composed buffy summers addresses the village. there are healing cuts on her cheek and the barest suggestion of leftover bruises; however, she looks victorious. warmed -- from the inside out -- with a sense of purpose and duty. ]

Drusilla's dust. Temporary dust, maybe -- but dust all the same. [ the vampire would be back in a week or so and people would have to go back to taking care past sunset but this is buffy's first truly triumphant vamp-slay in over three years. she's reinvigorated. proud. ]

To everyone she's threatened or hurt or worse? Sorry said dusting didn't happen sooner. If we're very very lucky, she'll get hit with a death-price that'll be more help than hindrance. Fate? If you're listening? I hear being fangless is really in style this season.

[ a soft sigh. drusilla had visited many a mental horror upon the slayer before the end. good times are needed. ] I think this calls for a celebratory drink or two or four. Who's with me?

[ for all your actiony desires, buffy can be found at a number of locations: at house seven in the morning; at all passions and the item shop in the noon hours; at good spirits from late afternoon and into the evening. tonight? she's there as a patron, not a barmaid. and if you need an excuse to talk to her? well, she does still have those cuts and bruises... ]

[He's a little unsure on the slaying thing, even if he'd gained a sense of what vampires are by now, but he knows the kind of fear that vampire had inspired in this place.]

Congratulations, then! I think.

I'm still getting my head around it. There isn't really anything like them back home. But there's a lot of stuff in our world that's pretty unbelievable for anything else. It's just hard to think of a type of creature where the only way to stop them is... well, slaying.

[He gets a ghastly image of Koh and really hopes that he never winds up here.]

Yeah... I can understand that better. There was a face-stealing spirit back home, but... you couldn't really do anything to him except for avoiding becoming his next victim. Either way, I don't hold it against you or anything.

Thanks, Buffy. I just don't like to be the judging type, especially when there's all those complex factors involved. Plus, well, past Avatars have been willing to take lives in order to save the world. [Which results in him being pressured to do the same.]

Apparently. I don't even remember being an old guy. I only kinda remember the two days I was six. [And the day he was Katara, but he's definitely not bringing that up to anyone who doesn't know.]

Yeah, I guess they were trying to make up for all the experiments I missed before I came here.

It wasn't that bad being a kid again. [It felt... really good to have a day without being an Avatar.] But thanks.

That's okay. Maybe you're nicer than you remember! It's definitely a lot better than most of the other things experiments can do.
